boy: WHA! hotwire is offering 100 bucks per night for a 4 star hotel in nyc! wanna go anot for x'mas?
me (while making dinner): erm....are u sure it is really 100 a night?
boy: YES! n it is a 4 star hotel in soho!
me: sure...if u want to. n if we can afford it...
boy: ok i go book now.

3 mins later...

boy: WHOOHOO!!!! we're spending x'mas in new york!

so yup...all of that happened in less than 10 mins i swear. and now we have plans for x'mas...NEW YORK!

Twilight Saga: New Moon

I hate to say it, but yes, we went to watch New Moon. LOL.

Well, since I read all the books and we saw the first movie by chance here, we decided to catch the 2nd instalment. Before we get to the movie, let's talk about what happened before. Firstly, even after they checked our ticket stubs, we had to queue before entering the theatre. And we had already got there 45 mins before the movie starts becos it's free seating here. After queueing for almost 30 mins, they allowed us in. And people started to run into the theatre to chope seats! Yes, they RAN???!!!!!

Moving on to the movie. I think the first movie was surprisingly good maybe becos we had no expectations of the movie, we didnt know what the story was and we didnt know about the hype surrounding the franchise. But now with the 2nd movie, having read the book, and see the hype tt's been going crazy around the world, it kinda disappointed us...

I know the movie is mainly targetting teens but still, it didnt need to have cheesy lines and scenes...young boys taking off their clothes for no reason, 3-4 "almost kissed the girl" scenes, etc. There were even some scenes where the audience laughed becos it was so cheesy. But, there were also parts of the movie that were shot very well and I must say the interpretation of the book was done very well. In fact, a lil more exciting than the book.

I hope they do the 3rd movie better...

no baking

i wanted to bake today but didnt wanna bake in the wrong mood. so i made green bean soup instead...maybe it's the weather, the waiting, or maybe i just miss mummy again.

the scary thing about yoga

has gotta be the changing room.

i go for yoga to keep my body and mind in check. and today in the changing room, right next to me, gramps decides that she's gonna take it all off. i didnt wanna look for fear that i'll see everything has reached her knees, but u really cant help it cos everything is just out there on display! n if you turn to the other direction you see another white ass (literally).

maybe cos i have never joined a gym or gone to some spa, i am not use to seeing random naked bodies. dun get me wrong, i have nothing against nudity. i love a sexy body anyday but not flubber. worse, it's blatant flubber over here.

eeeeeeek.

last night in boston!

not mine of cos...my sis' last night i mean. we had a fabulous dinner at bella vista (our fav italian place here), we ordered the marinara pasta that came with a huge lobster, we were super happy!!! i was extremely happy becos the boy did all the dirty work, cracking the lobster n all, i just had to eat, hahaha!

however, the ride home after dinner was kinda erm....tight. the cab driver didnt allow seating in the front, so all 4 of us squeezed into the back! n mind you, tho my sis n i arent huge, the 2 boys are!!! n it became even squeezier when we started to snap photos while laughing hilariously away.

and then my sis decides to wanna dig my nose at such a squeezy time....

and then someone farted....maybe it was me... *winks*

and out of no where she sticks out her middle finger n i look like i have never seen on before...

it was the most fun cab ride i ever had here...cos the other times, i feel like throwing up in the bumpy cab.

baked goods!

somehow i have plenty of chocolate in the kitchen...unsweetened chocolate, semi-sweet chocolate, bittersweet chocolate...etc. it's the festive period, n loads of pple are baking and hence, loads of baking stuff are on sale at the supermarket! so i've stocked up on whatever i can get my hands on...hur hur hur!

anyhow, first up is the very first martha stewart recipe i've tried. chocolate filled cupcakes! super yummy but too lil chocolate, i should have inserted a much bigger piece of chocolate.

and then it was cookie time! i baked these yummy chocolate vanilla moonstone cookies. i duno why they are called moonstone cos everyone else who have tried them calls them my ying n yang cookies. hahaha!

and i did my first attempt of macaroons. which failed. even before i placed them into the oven they were a mess. i had the wrong type of cocoa powder n the wrong piping tip. but i just bought a macaroon baking book off amazon, i am determined to master the macaroon!

Museum of Fine Arts

During my sister's stay here, the boy and i felt a lil like tourists again. We travelled out of boston a lil, we went to places of attractions that we've not been to, etc. One of those places is the Museum of Fine Arts. We were quite surprised with the huge collection they have there! And it was so much more fun to tour the museum with the boy. He was a fine arts students and so he shed some very interesting history and facts to lil ol' me! Here's a tiny lil part of the museum.

Oh and you know how some of these museums have crappy cafetarias? Not this one. I had a super yummy freshly made cheeseburger. Made the museum so much more appealing I must say! Hur hur hur!

let someone else do the cooking

one of the many things i enjoyed while my sis and bro in law was over - bro in law cooking yummy dinners! someone else to do the prepping and cooking? hell ya!
