New York: Meatpacking District

Meatpacking district is filled with designer boutiques, but not so much your usual pradas and chanels, but more like DVF, McQueen, Matthew Williamson - those kinda designers. and at night, the area is packed with glam squads and wannabes queuing up for clubs and bars. it's a great place to be if u just wanna be seen and to show off some glam heels and clothes. but if u want real good music in a club, avoid tt place at all cost!
We went back in the afternoon cos that's why the boy shops his best, go figure. i definitely prefer it during the day. less pretense and the boutiques are all done up so nicely!

there's this boutique called the doll project. they carry all high end brands - it's almost like barney's and bloomingdale's but a lil more interesting due to the decor and some of the other european brands that you cant get at the former 2 places.
and they had an exhibit area of barbie dolls decked out in designer clothes like versace, D&G, gucci, prada, jill sander, etc. these designers designed a smaller version of their runway clothes for barbie dolls. n these dolls are up for sale where all proceeds goes to the AIDS foundation. so i zoomed in for the oscar de la renta doll....oscar is my fav....he's such a sweet looking old man who still sketches his own designs and hand sews his gowns. love love love!

and i managed to snap the D&G dolls cos right after tt i was stopped by the sales woman saying no photos allowed. but she said she watched me take oscar's doll cos tt's her fav too! i did good, cos only the oscar doll mattered. :o)
