more furniture!!!

we bought these online last night cos they were on sale. :o)

this is our tv console. what's good abt it is the storage space and the boy likes the whole zig zag thing going on. not too structured. n u can flip it vertically up n use it as a book shelf!

and i like this...our book shelf. we bought one only but should we need more we can buy and place them together easily cos it just leans on the wall. it's easy to assemble and all....

there is this one chair that i want. the boy tells me it's too expensive...not now. n then he grumbles tt why do i have to sit on such an expensive thing. says the person who bought such an expensive working table in white. working table in white.....we see how long it remains white. actually, knowing him, he'll just be frantically wiping n scrubbing tt table everyday after he uses it. he got cleanliness issues. hyuk hyuk!!!

ok so this is what i want!!!! but nah...too expensive for us now...maybe next time.

and we went to the best looking and tasting jap restaurant last night. i didnt have my camera with me so no photos to share. but the place looked so zen....n the food was very very good! there arent cheap jap places here. it's the good and expensive or the foodcourt jap stuff. tt's it. nothing in between. but we agreed tt having great jap once in a while is better than having lousy ones every now and then. and that was also the jap place he ate alone when he came for the interview in sept last yr which is why he brought me there last night. :o)

we bought furniture!

it was such a good weekend!!!

the boy came back on friday afternoon as the office went thru some movements due to fengshui. dun ask me how come the ang mos do this more than us. apparently this takes place once a yr in the agency. so we went furniture shopping over the weekend and bought more household stuff from bed bath & beyond.

all the furniture takes abt 2-4 weeks to arrive but we have 2 red chairs to sit on! here they are and their names are "real good chair". serious.

same furniture place, we bought a working table and a coffee table. of cos, the boy must buy designer furniture. all these are from Vessel. really really cool place tt sells super good looking stuff. but all clean lines and one color tone.

we bought a couch too! the couch looks rather normal, but it's super comfy n big! i love the couch. the couch is from another furniture place. we had a real rude salesman. he snapped at me when i asked how much is a 2 seater n the boy glared at him like a typical ah beng. hahahaha! n when the boy went to the loo the salesman said he's got a deja vu, he feels like he's spoken to me before. i duno if he's trying to make up for being rude earlier on, but tt just makes things worse. the boy almost didnt wanna buy the couch cos he was rude, but cos tt was the only couch we saw tt we really liked, we got it.

furniture here is expensive. if u wanna pay 300-500 u get really crap stuff (unlike in singapore, u can get ikea furniture for quite a good price n they look quite good). n the mid range ones are abt 900-1200 which is alright looking only n some are still quite crap. but if u pay a little bit more in the range of 1500, u get really really good stuff. so we figured we might as well pay for quality tt looks good, n keep it for yrs to come. just tt i think the next time we move, we'll have more shit to pack.

it rained all day on sunday....so we stayed in for dinner. the boy made instant noodles. but i gotta give it to him, his noodles are damn good tho from a packet. he added his own extra ingredients inside....damn shiok. n we had luncheon meat. the same canned ones they have in singapore. i found them at some asian supermarket. yummz!!!!

and i made pancakes for breakfast! with extra ingredients. we were just trying out. first 2 pcs were burnt cos i forgot it's gotta be on low heat. n the next 4 looked like the macdonald ones! hur hur hur! my last 2 rounds of pancakes look like prata, couldnt get the brown skin tone. as you can tell, i enjoy making pancakes more than eating them.

out of all the household stuff we bought, the boy bought me my toys - all my baking trays n pans, a steamer for my dresses.....n then he had to go buy plastic drawers n hangers n demanded i pack all my clothes from the boxes by this week cos he cant stand the boxes lying ard anymore. sigh....tt's gotta take me a while man. *grumbles*

and the best toy - hand mixer. he almost got me the kitchenaid one tt costs 300, it looks oh so good....but i told him no, the 30 bucks one will do cos i've never used one before. so instead, he got me kitchenaid mixing bowls instead, he say it's my small step to the big ass stand mixer. for those who duno wat my hype over the kitchenaid thingy is all abt, here it is, my ultimate baking toy.

and this is for my 2nd mummy dearest, my tajie. this will explain our conversation last friday.

me: wait, i go back check my shower curtain.

she: HUH????

it's so deeeeeeegitaaaaaa eh? *giggles*

fish fish!

i was choosing between making an ang mo fish or the cheena one. ang mo fish was a lot easier to make. usually tt's the case for almost all ang mo recipe, marinade n then bake or grill. but i didnt feel like creamy salmon with dill or i chose the bbq chili salmon! n it was sooooo yummz. by far, i think this is my fav meal. look at it fresh from the grill, it's sooo good looking. n i did the skin the way the boy likes it, crispy. cos the last time i made salmon the skin stuck onto the pan n he complaint tt's his fav part. n we had potatoes and spinach to go with it. spinach is the boy's idea. eeeeeyer. i dun like spinach.

and i did laundry n cleaning after cooking too. so domesticated it's grossing me out. ew. then the boy comes home at 11ish n ask me where's this n where's tt, i yelled "can u do something around the house???" he roars with laughter n say it's hilarious. it's so great cos we have no issues with each other around the house. everything tt goes wrong or not as planned we've managed to laugh abt it. except for when he gets frustrated with the house being empty due to the cash flow hiccup. he told one of the other boys tt night "i dun like seeing my girl sitting on the floor!" awww.....so sweet. so ah beng also. hahahahahaha!

and yest i went walking around town the entire afternoon. got back and went to the gym. then i tried a diff machine after my run, gee...tt machine works ur ass n thighs man. i got off it after 10 mins. my legs were tired from walking for 3 hours and running.

and am i the only person who gets motion sickness kinda feeling after i get down from the threadmil? the first couple of days i was on it i felt really giddy after i finished my run. now it's better but still, i wonder if it's normal. the boy says it is cos he felt it too when he ran tt night.

and me bought a satin purple jacket yest! the boy says nice cos it's techno. hahahaha! n i bought 3 more pairs of gloves from marc jacobs cos they are 5 bucks. n the boy says buy n keep cos he doesnt wanna see me in the same pair of gloves everyday. he's so girl....

it's friday!!!! n the boy doesnt have to work this weekend so we can chill out n do cost-saving activities. like go to the movies, i wanna catch "sunshine cleaning". i like emily blunt!

am i allergic to pad thai???

i think i am. cos last night i had it again and i had the runs immediately after dinner. the boy says i should learn to fart right after every meal, i will feel better. n he goes on to demonstrate how it's done. in public, masking it with a truck tt drove past. he's an expert at doing this actually. the he continued with something else equally disgusting tt i wont mention. it's a boy thing i guess. so i said "is there anything disgusting u dont do?" he burst out laughing n said tt is so cute. wat so cute abt tt? i meant it.

anyway, i shall lay off the pad thai for now.

the boy got tipsy on tues night when i picked him up from the bar next to the office. n there he was ranting and bitching abt work with 4 other fellow creatives. funny, i always hear n bitch with suits, never with creatives and for the first time i see them like a bit poor thing. senior art director, associate creative director have to comp out storyboards themselves. senior writer got to shit out 4 tv scripts in 5 hours. hahahahahahaha! i asked where's the visualiser, they looked at me like i'm from another world.

while unpacking our brown boxes last night, the boy realised the packers packed in this travel wallet with dvds and books just cos they were sitting on the same shelf back home. n he found a couple of hundreds in it tt he forgot all about. he proudly proclaimed "it's like free money!!!!"

my heater in the apt is weird, it makes a super loud noise when it's turned on every 20 mins. like super loud. cannot sleep thru it kinda loud. so i called the concierge n he tells me "if u turn it on when it's cold outside it might make tt noise cos it's working hard to heat up the apt". eh idiot, if it's not cold outside, why in the world would i be turning on the freaking heater? jesus.

am off to have dim sum for lunch with the boy!!!!!

my sausage factory boy

hahahahahahahahahaha! tt's the boy/sausage factory boy last night at 2am. he came back at 1am and asked for packet noodles. then he sits there n complains abt how it's a factory not an agency. n it's a sausage factory cos there arent any chicks in the office.

i eat a lil bit more glamourously than him. i stand over the kitchen bar. *blinks blinks*

don draper....YUMMZ!

he is my new mcdreamy. ok maybe not, what i'm saying is - there arent many men i go crazy over from the tv. mcdreamy is number 1. and now don draper is number 2. he's in mad men, the show about advertising creatives and execs in the 50s. the generation of advertising that the boy wants to be in becos "creatives dun do work, they drink at 11am, they leave at 430pm to a bar or to their wives, oh and sexual harassment is part of the job la!".

to tt i retorted that creatives now are doing the same except for the sexual harassment bit. and one thing tt didnt change is the massive ego. the boy says no ego no job.

the boy downloaded both full seasons of mad men for me cos he's gonna be working hard on a 250 million dollar pitch. chey! use mad men to entertain me. hmpf. but ok la, i am enjoying it, i had my first 4 episodes back to back last night.

i quite like the part where don draper, the creative director, takes the research folder from the planner and says he'll go thru it. and right tt second, he chucked it into the bin, in front of the planner.

foodie!!!

our fav place for food has gotta be the dim sum place near the boy's agency. it feels like hong kong when you're in there. the food is soooo good. the boy has tt almost 3 times a week!!! see how cheena the place is, hur hur hur!

and the next 3 weeks is Restaurant Week here in Boston. basically, high end restaurants will be serving the same menu as per norm, with some additions, and u pay a price of about 35 per person and get a starter, a main and a dessert. any one off the menu. it's super value for money!!! so we went to sibling rivalry on tuesday night, opened by 2 brothers (DUH!) and the menu is divided by who cooks what. and it's also because they have 8 other siblings, and they are all chefs! i had the spicy tuna tartare to start, steak for the main and chocolate mousse. the standard wasnt fantastic, it was quite alright only, but it was 33 per person, so it's alright i guess and perhaps it was so packed so the food kinda dipped a little. n the service sucked. it took them 40 mins to get our table even tho we made a reservation (2 weeks ago) and they got our orders wrong here n there. tsk tsk.

we have another 2 more reservations for restaurant week but i think we might skip the one this weekend cos we're quite broke from furniture, rental and the bank hiccups with his chq. the boy says i have to eat bread this weekend. hahahahahahahaha!

the boy and i have stupid photos, taken at the cheesecake factory. but he ate too much tt day, denied me of my godiva chocolate cheesecake. :o(

our dinner last night! i made the same pork tenderloin but i grilled it this time and made it spicier. i ate standing on the kitchen bar top, the boy ate it sitting on one of his boxes with books from singapore. hahahahahaha, it was pathetic but funny.

oh and i accidentally locked the toilet door last night at midnight. the concierge had to come pry the door open. yikes. the boy says we should go church and pray just in case more of such "mishaps" come along. *evil laughter*

moving is tiring, even without furniture

2 days ago, i had to help a fren move an arco lamp (yes tt lamp tt touches the ceiling) from a brownstone house (they have tiny bendy stairs, low ceiling n small doors) into a suv and into another brownstone house. 3 girls and one lamp, i wish i had a video or photos to show how it all went, it was hilarious and i cant believe we thot we could do it initially, n how we actually did it and the lamp is still fine. it is on its way to NYC next week. with the help of professional movers of cos. 

and today it was our turn to move! we moved from the service apt into our new home. tho we had no furniture to move, we r so damn tired. the apt has the bed, all done up, the kitchen, with all its appliances, the bathroom with everything and all our boxes from home, tt's it. nothing. big empty space in the living area. we dun even have cushions to sit one. i'll post photos of my empty home tmr or something. 

after moving our bags over this morning and having the movers deliver our boxes, we headed out to bed, bath and beyond. we bought 700 bucks worth of things tt we need immediately for the house. at one point, i sat on a showcase bed and left the boy to go look for pillows. i was too tired to move. 

and after bringing home everything and unpacking those stuff, we had to head out again to buy food to stock up. i scoffed down burger king first. i couldnt move before tt. n guess what, after the burger i couldnt move too, the boy says i'm useless, hahahahahaha!

after tt, we went home, i watched the boy go crazy over unpacking his shoes from singapore (seriously, i duno why he's got more pairs than me, n he's more excited to have more shoes than me). after tt, we slept at 630pm, n now we're awake at 1030pm....

it's st. patrick's day here on sunday, well, at least tt's when the parade is. it takes place from broadway st to andrew st from 1pm onwards. it's like a huge thing here so we decided to go check it out. unfortunately, we woke up late and looked at furniture too much tt we missed the parade and decided to give it a miss after all cos we got distracted by the park, ice skating, frogs and italian food. but, it was a lovely sunday. :o)

the boy walks into marc by marc jacobs, he saw some leather bracelets and said "i like these! i want one, it says "between us" in another language, i think it's latin. oh look, it comes in sizes, here's a small, i'll buy one for u too."

he paid for it and we stepped out n he goes "nah, wear it."

this was after the boy complaint about work on the way to dinner. we had super good thai food for dinner. n almost immediately after we finished dinner, i got the tummy ache, and him too. we dashed to the nearest loo in the mall and we both pooped. he says we're the shitty couple.

so i blamed him for my tummy ache cos i took his ice milk tea when he said he didnt want it. and he said "that's cos u wanted the milk tea n didnt want ur lemonade, u think if u didnt want the milk tea and i can get u to exchange it with me meh?".

2 friday nights back, i threw a lil tantrum cos the wind was so strong, i was so cold, my hair was in a mess and i was being blown away. we were making our way to a bar and i snapped "i wanna go home NOW!"

so this friday, when it started to get chilly, and i casually mentioned i'm very cold, the boy immediately went "i'll hug you!!! dun wait u throw tantrum". i burst into laughter and asked if i wanted him to carry me home in a cold will he, he said of cos, anything to avoid me being unhappy.

and he's not saying tt to pacify me, trust me, knowing him, he will do it. he has been doing everything and anything possible to make me as comfy and as happy.

he's taking good care of me. :o)
